He was born at Hickeys Creek, Macleay River, and

His next of kin was his wife, Elizabeth Mary Fuller.

  • 5th Field Artillery Brigade

Francis served in the Australian Imperial Force 4th May 1916 to 10th Oct 1919, 

Francis served in England and France during 7th Feb 1917 to 2nd Sept 1919

​

Medals

Francis enlisted in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force at Newcastle, New South Wales on 9th June 1940 and allotted Army number NX45613.

 

Francis stated on enlistment:
He was born at Kempsey, New South Wales on 31 August 1900, and
His next of kin was his wife, Elizabeth Mary Fuller of Short Street, West Kempsey, New South Wales.

Francis served with the following units:

  • 4th Australian Infantry Training Battalion

  • 1st Australian Infantry Training Battalion

  • 2nd Australian Armoured Training Regiment

  • 6th Australian Armoured Regiment

  • 1st Australian Infantry Training Battalion

​

Francis achieved the rank of Sergeant during his service life.

 

On discharge, Francis was posted to the 2/6 Armoured Regiment

Francis was discharged on the 26 September 1946.
