Ken enlisted in the Australian Military Forces at Paddington, New South Wales on 23 December 1941, and allotted Army number NX79936.

 

Ken stated on enlistment:
He was born at Kempsey, New South Wales on 19 November 1922, and
His next of kin was his mother Elizabeth Fuller of Short Street, Kempsey, New South Wales.

In Australia, Ken served with the following units:

  • 5th Australian Training Battalion

  • 32nd Australian Infantry Brigade

  • 2/7th Australian Commando Squadron

  • 146th Australian General Transport Company

​

Embarked at Townsville, Queensland for service overseas with the 2/7th Australian Independent Company per ‘KATOOMBA’ on 17 February 1943

​

In New Guinea:

1st tour: 17-Feb-43 to 4-Dec-43

2nd tour: 14-Oct-44 to 7-Mar-46

​

Ken served with the following units:

  • 2/7th Australian Commando Squadron

  • 2/3rd Australian General Transport Company

  • 2/5th Australian Transport Platoon

  • 54th and 58th Australian Transport Platoon

​

Ken disembarked in Sydney, New South Wales per 'NORDNESS' from New Guinea on 7 August 1946

​

Ken achieved the rank of Private during hi service life.

​

On discharge, Ken was posted to the 2/7 Commando Sqn

Ken was discharged on the 14 August 1946.
