Maurice enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces at Newcastle, New South Wales on 28 August 1940 and allotted number NX47347.

 

Maurice stated on enlistment:
He was born at Kempsey, New South Wales on 20 September 1916, and
His next of kin was his wife, Queenie Fuller of River Street, West Kempsey, New South Wales.

Maurice served with the following units:

  • 1st Australian Infantry Training Battalion

  • 2/3rd Australian Infantry Battalion

​

Maurice achieved the rank of Private during his service life with the 2nd Australian Imperial Force.

​

On discharge, Maurice was posted to the 2/30 Battalion 8 9 Div

Maurice was discharged on the 28 May 1941.

Re-enlistment

 

​​Maurice re-enlisted into the Australian Citizens Military Forces at Kempsey, New South Wales on 27 February 1956 and allotted CMF number 2/217112.

​

Maurice served in Australia with the 13th Infantry Battalion

​

Maurice achieved the rank of Temporary Sergeant during his service with the CMF.

​

Maurice was discharged from the CMF on the 7 April 1958.
