Maurice achieved the rank of Private during his service life with the 2nd Australian Imperial Force.

Re-enlistment
Maurice re-enlisted into the Australian Citizens Military Forces at Kempsey, New South Wales on 27 February 1956 and allotted CMF number 2/217112.
Maurice served in Australia with the 13th Infantry Battalion
Maurice achieved the rank of Temporary Sergeant during his service with the CMF.
Maurice was discharged from the CMF on the 7 April 1958.
