Neville enlisted in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force at Kempsey, New South Wales on 20 October 1939 and allotted Army number NX1524.

 

Neville stated on enlistment:
He was born at Kempsey, New South Wales on 5 November 1914, and
His next of kin was his wife, Mary Fuller of Newcastle, New South Wales

Embarked at Sydney, New South Wales for service overseas with the 2/2nd Australian Infantry Battalion on the 10 January 1940..

Records do not show the name of transport not listed.

​

Neville served in the Middle East from 10 January 1940 to 27th February 1943 with the following units:

  • 2/2nd Australian Infantry Battalion

  • 16th Australian Infantry Brigade

  • 16th Australian Anti-Tank Company

  • 2/1st Australian Convalescent Depot

​

Neville disembarked in Sydney, New South Wales from the Middle East on 27 February 1943,

​

Neville achieved the rank of Lance Corporal during his service life.

​

On Discharge, Neville was posted to the 2/1 Convalescent Depot

Neville was discharged on the 28 February 1945 (Townsville, Queensland)
